Hafeet

Hafeet is the Oman checkpoint opposite Mezyad near Al Ain. If you're approaching from the UAE, set your navigation to Mezyad first. Oman Customs lists Hafeet as a land border post.

Check Oman's entry requirements for your passport and the length of your stay before driving to the border. For a rental car from the UAE, ask the company for written permission to take it into Oman and confirm your insurance covers the trip. The German Embassy's March 2026 guidance describes a vehicle-only crossing from the UAE into Oman.
