Kampoeng Heritage Kajoetangan

Kampoeng Heritage Kajoetangan is an old residential quarter in central Malang that has been shaped into a heritage walking area. The area remains residential, so do not enter courtyards or homes without an invitation, photograph people at close range without permission or block narrow passages. Courtesy matters especially near family shops and workshops: these are working places, not set pieces. The city government describes Kajoetangan as one of Malang’s thematic tourism villages and highlights its old architecture, religious sites, trade and food, river walks and neighbourhood events. Set aside a few hours to wander the lanes and stop for a local snack. If you want a guided walk or hope to enter a privately owned house, ask local hosts or the community group about access. Kajoetangan offers a view of Malang through a preserved urban neighbourhood that is still lived in, rather than a collection of isolated monuments.
