Peace Hotel

Two buildings on the corner of Nanjing road and the Bund waterfront. The red brick block of the former Palace Hotel was built in 1908, while the northern one, Sassoon House with its green pyramidal roof, went up in 1929 in the art deco style and is held to be a symbol of prewar Shanghai. Both blocks still work as a hotel today.
