Ismoil Somoni Monument

A monument to the founder of the Samanid state on Dusti Square, unveiled in 1999 for the 1100th anniversary of the dynasty. The bronze figure of the emir stands beneath an arch topped with a gilded crown, bronze lions lie at its foot, and a long cascade of fountains runs down towards the square.
