Kosmonavtlar Metro Station

The station opened in 1984 and is given over to the conquest of space. Its track walls are faced with glass and ceramic shading from deep blue to pale blue, which shows the climb from the earth towards the sky, while round medallions carry portraits running from Icarus and Ulugh Beg to Gagarin and Tereshkova. The columns are finished in dark green stone and shaped to suggest rockets.
