Tiger Running Spring (Hupao)

A wooded park with a spring in the hills south of West Lake. The name is tied to a legend about a monk who dreamed of two tigers that dug open the earth and released the spring, and the story is carved in a sculptural group by the pond. In Hangzhou the water of Hupao is traditionally held to be the best for brewing longjing tea.
