Truvor's Cross

A stone cross taller than a man stands in the old cemetery beside Truvor's hillfort, above Gorodishchenskoye Lake. Legend links it to the Varangian Truvor, brother of Rurik, but the cross was raised much later, in the 14th or 15th century. Around it lie ancient slabs incised with geometric signs known as "babylons".
