Datang Buyecheng Street

Attraction·Сиань·China

The Datang Buyecheng pedestrian street runs from the square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda to the park of Datang Furongyuan in the southern part of Xi'an. It was laid out in the 2000s as an evocation of Chang'an, the Tang capital, with wooden galleries, tiled roofs, water channels and dozens of bronze sculpture groups on themes of poetry and court life. The northern end of the street is closed by an equestrian monument to the emperor Taizong and his war horses, dedicated to the years of the Zhenguan reign. In the evening the blocks are floodlit and the street becomes the chief place for a stroll for the people of the city. By day the Wild Goose Pagoda is clearly seen from the central axis, standing on the continuation of the same line.
