One of three madrasas built across Uzbekistan by the great astronomer and ruler Ulugh Beg (1417). The facade is covered in refined geometric ornament. The Abdulaziz Khan Madrasa stands opposite; together the two form the Kosh-Madrasa ("twin madrasa") ensemble. Inside are souvenir workshops.
