National Garden Gate

Attraction·Тегеран·Iran

The brick gate faced with coloured tiles was put up between 1922 and 1925 on the order of Reza Shah as the entrance to a military college and an arms factory. Hence the mosaics with cannon, machine guns and cannonballs set beside the traditional lion and sun. Before the Azadi Tower was built the gate passed for the symbol of Tehran, and today the museum buildings of Imam Khomeini Street stand behind it.
