Kantor Church

A small Russian Orthodox church of red brick, consecrated in 1905 for the engineers who were building the road from Anzali to Tehran. The plan is cruciform with the altar turned to the east, and a three-tier bell tower with a small dome stands over the entrance. Gravestones survive in the yard, one of them naming Nikolai Alexandrovich Mitrofanov, an engineer of communications who died in May 1906. Craft exhibitions are held inside today.
