

The Singer Company building on the corner of Nevsky Prospekt and the Griboyedov Canal, built in 1902-1904 by the architect Pavel Suzor in art nouveau style. The heavy glass globe on the roof, flanked by valkyries, is one of the emblems of Nevsky. Since 1919 the building has housed Dom Knigi, the largest bookshop in the city.
