Merchant Yard in Rostov Veliky

The long building of trading rows with its open arcade stands on the square directly opposite the kremlin and is still occupied by shops. It was built in the first third of the nineteenth century on the site of the old wooden marketplace. The view from the rows towards the domes of the kremlin is the most recognisable of all Rostov cityscapes.
