Miners' Glory Monument

A bronze group of two miners raising a block of coal above their heads is the unofficial symbol of Karaganda. The monument was unveiled in 1974 by the sculptor A. Bilyk and the architect A. Malkov, and the whole composition weighs about 20 tonnes. It stands on the square before the entrance to the Central Park, opposite the Miners' Palace of Culture.
