The Catholic cathedral of Notre-Dame des Victoires in Tianjin, known in China as Wanghailou, "the house facing the sea". Built by French missionaries in 1869, it was destroyed and rebuilt twice: in 1870 during the Tianjin Massacre and in 1900 during the Boxer Rebellion. A Gothic basilica with two towers at the mouth of the Hai River.
