Trading Rows in Vyshny Volochyok

The merchant yard of the middle of the nineteenth century consists of two long ranges with open arcades along the edges of the large market square. The rows were built when the town lived on the freight traffic of the Vyshny Volochyok water system and served as an important transfer point on the route from the Volga to St Petersburg. Trade still goes on under the arcades.
