Darband Gorge

A mountain gorge on the northern edge of Tehran at the foot of Tochal, whose name means the gate of the mountain. From Darband Square the best-known walking path in the city climbs along the stream, first past teahouses and restaurants on platforms above the water and then over rocks towards the Shirpala pass. From up there a view opens over the whole Tehran basin.
