Wat Sri Suphan stands on Wualai Road in Chiang Mai's silversmithing neighbourhood, south of the Old City. The temple dates to 1500, but its metal-clad ordination hall was built much later. Silver and aluminium reliefs cover the building, depicting Buddhist stories and the temple's history.
Women are not admitted inside the ordination hall. This restriction applies to that building, rather than the whole temple grounds: visitors can still view the metalwork from outside. Check the signs at each entrance and follow the temple's instructions.
