Songkhla Old Town grew along three historic streets: Nakhon Nok, Nakhon Nai and Nang Ngam. Traditional Chinese shophouses and buildings with Chinese-European details reflect the city’s past as a trading port. Murals on old walls depict scenes from local life and have become part of the neighbourhood’s street art.
A walk can include former shopfronts, local shrines and the red Hup Ho Hin rice mill, now used for exhibitions about Songkhla’s history. Nang Ngam Road is known for traditional cafés and local food. The compact quarter is best explored on foot, linking the three streets with the lakeside waterfront.
