The Ark Fortress

Bukhara's oldest citadel, dating from the 5th century AD and the residence of the emirs of Bukhara until 1920. Inside are a local history museum, the throne room, the Juma Mosque and the mint. From the top of the walls the whole old town lies open below. An essential stop.
