Huxinting Teahouse and the Nine-Zigzag Bridge

A wooden pavilion in the middle of the pond at the entrance to the Yuyuan garden, working as a tea house since the middle of the 19th century. A bridge with nine turns leads to it, and by popular belief evil spirits can move only in a straight line and lose their way on such a bridge. The galleries of the Yuyuan shopping quarter surround the pond.
