Dutch Square in Malacca

A square with red brick buildings of the Dutch period, the historic core of Malacca. The Stadthuys town hall was raised in the middle of the 17th century and served as the residence of the governor of the Dutch East India Company, and next to it stands Christ Church, consecrated in 1753. In the middle of the square are the Queen Victoria fountain of 1904 and the Tan Beng Swee clock tower, put up in 1886 with the money of a local Chinese family.
