Malacca River

The river splits the historic centre in two, with old warehouses and shophouses with painted walls on one side and an embankment of cafes on the other. It was the mouth of this river that made the port for which the Portuguese, the Dutch and the English fought over the town. Today pleasure boats run along the channel, and the banks are lit up in the evening.
