Gromovaya Tower

A many-sided tower of the Smolensk fortress, built by Fyodor Kon at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries as the country's chief western outpost. Inside is the museum "Smolensk, Shield of Russia", with weapons and models of the defences, and there is a viewing platform at the top.
