Craftsmen's Street in Kashgar

Ostangboyi trading street runs south of the Id Kah Mosque, and for centuries blacksmiths, coppersmiths, woodcarvers and carpet makers have worked along it. The workshops open straight onto the street, and their fronts are hung with copper vessels, frame drums and carpets. The way in is marked by a pointed arch with carved ganch decoration.
