Gua Kerbau, or Buffalo Cave, lies near Kodiang in Kedah, among the limestone hills of the northern Malay Peninsula. Together with neighbouring Gua Batu Putih, it is one of the area’s natural and historical attractions. Local folklore links the cave’s name to a buffalo transformed into a rocky hill.
Inside, limestone chambers open into passages and ledges framed by rugged rock walls; outside, the cave sits within a distinctive karst landscape. Visitors often combine it with nearby Bukit Kodiang and Bukit Keplu. Access conditions can change, so check locally before setting out.
