Silk Road Heritage City

A huge park of replicas in the desert southwest of Dunhuang, built by a film studio company as a set and as a tourist attraction. It gathers buildings of the Silk Road countries reproduced at various scales: rock niches with Buddhist images, palace halls in Chinese style, mud-brick quarters and classical temples. The site is used for filming, and open gravel wastes lie between the structures.
