How we protect content, and what to do if your rights have been infringed.
This is a translation provided for convenience. The service operates under the law of the Russian Federation, and the Russian version is the binding one — if the two differ, the Russian text prevails.
All photographs, texts, place descriptions and other materials on backpack.travel are protected by copyright and belong to their authors or to the platform. Copying, republishing or commercial use without written permission is not allowed. Authorship is evidenced by the metadata inside the files and by the date of publication.
The directory of countries, cities, places and border crossings is also a database: building and verifying it took substantial investment, so the Site holds the database maker's exclusive right (article 1334 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation and equivalent database rights elsewhere). Extracting a substantial part of it is not allowed, regardless of whether an individual record is protected by copyright.
Automated collection of the content and its use for training machine learning models are prohibited — see clause 13 of the Terms of Service.
