


A memorial complex of the 14th-15th centuries in Shahrisabz. Its main building is the Kok-Gumbaz Mosque ("blue dome", 1435), raised by Ulugh Beg in honour of his father Shahrukh. Alongside stand the Gumbazi Seyidan mausoleum and the tomb of Shamsiddin Kulol, spiritual mentor to the Timurids. The name means "house of contemplation of the Quran".
