Jami Mosque

The Friday mosque of Kokand was built between 1809 and 1812 in the reign of Umar Khan. The great thing here is the open iwan running almost a hundred metres, carried by 98 wooden columns with carved bases under a painted ceiling. A minaret twenty-two metres high rises beside it, and a garden is laid out all around.
