Dang River Waterfront

The Dang river, running down from the Qilian Shan, is dammed within the bounds of Dunhuang, and the water stands as a broad mirror along the embankments. Boulevards with Chinese-style pavilions are laid out on the banks and lit in the evening, so that the lights are reflected in the water. Beyond the town the sand ridges of Mingsha show on the horizon.
