Pantai Balekambang

Pantai Balekambang is a beach on the southern coast of Malang Regency, where a sandy shoreline meets rocky stretches and small islands just offshore. Its best-known landmark is Pura Amerta Jati, a Hindu temple on Ismoyo Island. A bridge connects the island to the beach, making the temple visible both from the sand and from the crossing above the water. Nearby islands Anoman and Wisanggeni complete the distinctive coastal panorama. Visitors can walk along the shore, watch the surf and explore the rocky edges that become more exposed at low tide. Balekambang suits a visit that combines a sea landscape with a cultural site: the natural coast and an active place of worship sit side by side. If you cross to the island, pay attention to wave conditions and follow the temple’s rules; during religious ceremonies, give worshippers space. The beach is near Srigonco village, south of Malang city, and is commonly included in a trip along the South Malang coast. Reaching it takes a substantial part of the day, so it works best as a dedicated stop combined with nearby beaches.
