Duck Tower

The north-eastern tower of the lavra was given an ornate upper tier with a stone spire at the end of the seventeenth century, and that addition makes it taller than the others and noticeable from far off. The name comes from the small figure of a duck at its summit, and tradition holds that the young Peter I shot at ducks on the White Pond from here.
