Ryazan Kremlin

The oldest part of the city is the hill above the Trubezh, where in 1095 Pereyaslavl-Ryazansky, the future Ryazan, was founded. Of the fortifications an earth rampart is left, while the core consists of the Dormition Cathedral of the late seventeenth century by Yakov Bukhvostov, the Cathedral of the Archangel and the buildings of the Saviour Transfiguration Monastery. The best view of the ensemble opens from the kremlin rampart.
