Bazaar by the Green Mosque

The trading rows are spread straight across the square around the Green Mosque in the centre of Balkh, with sacks of rice and spices, cloth under awnings, handcarts and motorcycles. From here the turquoise domes of the mosque show at their best above the roofs of the stalls.
