Rameshwara Temple stands in Nashik’s Panchavati neighbourhood, close to the historic temple quarter and the Godavari River. The district’s official history links its construction to the local ruler Naroshankar Raje Bahadar, who is also credited with installing the Naroshankar Bell. The temple is one of the shrines that, together with Ramkund and nearby temples, forms the city’s pilgrimage district.

Rameshwara is dedicated to Shiva. It is best understood as part of Panchavati, where several temples and river ghats sit within a compact historic area. Walking between them gives a sense of how Nashik’s religious sites relate to the Godavari and the older urban fabric. Set aside time for the neighbourhood, and plan a temple visit around local guidance and opening hours.

Panchavati remains an active religious area. Follow the directions of temple staff, check which spaces are open to visitors, and ask before taking photographs inside. Rules and schedules can change, particularly during major religious events.
