Pakhtakor Metro Station

The station opened in 1977 in the first stage of the Tashkent metro, the first underground railway in Central Asia. Its name means the cotton grower, and the decoration keeps to that theme, with the track walls covered by a majolica frieze of opened cotton bolls. Photography in the Tashkent metro was allowed only in 2018, and before that the stations counted as restricted sites.
