Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit

The Church of the Holy Spirit was built in 1476 by masters from Pskov next to the Trinity Cathedral. It belongs to the rare type known as a church beneath the bells, in which the belfry is worked into the drum of the dome and the bells hang directly under the cupola. The blue dome with its stars is a later addition of the eighteenth century.
