Magoki Attari Mosque

One of the oldest mosques in Central Asia (12th century), sitting partly below ground level, a measure of the 25 centuries of cultural layers piled up around it. The site held a Zoroastrian fire temple, then a Buddhist monastery, then a pagan market, and finally a mosque. It now houses the Carpet Museum.
