Oriental Pearl Tower

A television tower in Pudong 468 metres high, built in 1994 and long the tallest structure in Shanghai. The shaft with its eleven spheres of different sizes alludes to a line of verse about large and small pearls falling onto a jade plate. Viewing platforms are arranged inside the two lower spheres.
