Central Market of Phnom Penh (Psar Thmey)

The yellow art deco building was opened in 1937 on the site of a drained marsh to the design of the French architect Jean Desbois. The central dome is raised to 26 metres, and from it four covered wings with rows of stalls run out along the diagonals. Under the dome they trade in gold and watches, in the wings in cloth, electronics and food, while street rows are spread out around the building.
